Giving to APL
APL is committed to creating a place where every student — especially those who are neurodivergent — is truly seen, supported, and celebrated. Since opening our doors in 2007, we’ve worked to narrow the gap between the full cost of our programs and what families are asked to pay—often subsidizing 20–50% of the true cost.
We know that raising a child with diverse learning needs brings unique joys and challenges, including financial ones. That’s why our Board of Directors remains deeply committed to keeping APL as accessible as possible.
Gifts from our community have an immediate and lasting impact—ensuring that neurodivergent students have access to the individualized education, therapies, and inclusive environment they deserve.
APL has always been more than a school — it’s a community built around the belief that difference is a strength. Here, neurodivergent learners aren’t just accommodated — they are embraced, celebrated, and supported to reach their fullest potential.
Spend time in our classrooms, on the playground, or at a school event, and you’ll see a place where students thrive not in spite of their differences, but because of them.
This spirit of belonging is the heart of APL.
There are many ways to be part of this community of care:
Active Participation
We encourage you to participate in the APL community by being involved in the classroom, volunteering to help with projects, sponsoring activities or joining our APL Family Association.

Philanthropy
Like most independent schools, APL relies on the generous support of families, alumni, and friends to sustain and grow the programs that make our neurodiversity-affirming model possible.
Gifts of all sizes help bridge the gap between tuition and the true cost of providing a deeply individualized education grounded in dignity, belonging, and strength-based learning.
We invite our community to make APL a philanthropic priority each year. Every contribution helps create a school where students who often struggle to find a place elsewhere can find a true home.
When you make a gift to APL you make an investment in a child’s future. Our operations are lean with more than 88% of your donation going directly to programs and services. Your gift is also tax-deductible as we are a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit organization (IRS tax ID #91-2143623).
