Community Partners

Inclusion is a core value at APL, both in our classrooms and in our community.

We are proud to be part of the Capitol Hill community and love to partner with local organizations and businesses. Some of our partnerships create robust programs for our learners in the classroom, while others support our goal to include our neurodiverse learners in the wider-community via tours, shopping trips, and even employment.

Music Center of the Northwest

Music Center of the Northwest offers music therapy to our students every week in their classrooms. You can learn more about Music Center of the NW’s Neurodiversity-Affirming Approach to music therapy here.

Ryther’s Aspiring Youth

APL creates a space for Aspiring Youth to run their after-school programs for both APL and non-APL students.

Greensprouts Lunches

We partner with Greensprouts to make the school-day little easier for our families and students. Greensprouts meals are prepared in their nut-free facility using as many local and organic products as possible.

North Shore Pediatric Therapy

North Shore Pediatric Therapy provides SLP and OT services for some students during the school day.

Seaglass Pediatric Therapy

Seaglass Pediatric Therapy is another option for our students who receive SLP and OT services during the school day.

13 Gem Sporting

We partner with 13 Gem Sporting to provide Physical Education for all of our students K-12 onsite at our gym.

Roots2Wings

Roots2Wings is a parent group with a mission to connect and nurture a community of families and partners to assist neurodiverse members navigating the journey from high school to post-secondary education and beyond. Our Pathways Counselor, Shelly Frappier, is one of the leaders for this group.

Summit Community Center

Summit Community Center supports young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. They provide a community space where they can build independence, socialize, and connect with their community in supportive environments that facilitate autonomy and true engagement.

Teen Feed

Teen Feed responds to the most basic needs of houseless and at-risk youth in the following focus areas: healthy meals and lives, youth support coordination, street outreach, and healthcare access. APL has partnered with Teen Feed for service projects for our high school students.
