Community Partners
Inclusion is a core value at APL, both in our classrooms and in our community.
We are proud to be part of Seattle's U-District and love to partner with local organizations and businesses. Some of our partnerships create robust programs for our learners in the classroom, while others support our goal to include our neurodiverse learners in the wider-community via tours, shopping trips, and even employment.
Music Center of the Northwest
Music Center of the Northwest offers music therapy to our students every week in their classrooms. You can learn more about Music Center of the NW’s Neurodiversity-Affirming Approach to music therapy here.
Seattle Kids Yoga
Seattle Kids Yoga (SKY) teachers come to APL twice a week to deliver incredible yoga classes in all K-12 classrooms.
Broadway Bound Children’s Theater
APL partners with Broadway Bound to provide theatre classes to our high school students every week.
Ryther’s Aspiring Youth
APL creates a space for Aspiring Youth to run their after-school programs for both APL and non-APL students.
Seattle P-Patch
APL's gardening class utilizes garden spaces at our UHeights campus from the Seattle P-Patch program.
Greensprout Lunches
We partner with Greensprout to make the school-day little easier for our families and students. Greensprout meals are prepared in their nut-free facility using as many local and organic products as possible.
University District YMCA
APL's weekly PE classes utilize our local YMCA and we have fostered a wonderful relationship with their staff to ensure and inclusive and accessible experience for students of all abilities.
University District Public Library
Our students take weekly field trips down the street to our local public library to check out their own books.
