Our Story
APL has been on an incredible journey. What started with 4 students and a big dream, has grown to a comprehensive K-12 school with an incredibly talented and engaged staff.

THE BEGINNING
The school was founded in 2007 by Alison Moors Lipshin and three families: Erin & Kirk Brewer, Nancy & Matt Gordon and Samia & Herman Mohazzabfar. The founders united around a central mission for APL:
APL is an inclusive K-12 school serving students across the autism spectrum along with their typically developing peers in an inclusive, academically challenging and socially vibrant environment.
OUR FOUNDERS
From the spark of an idea, the founders of APL did the hard work of launching an upstart inclusion school, and continued to develop and expand according to need. Watch the video.

A HISTORY OF GROWTH
Families have moved from Germany, France, Hawaii and many other states across the country to come to Seattle and send their children to APL. With a current enrollment of 110, our student population has increased over twenty fold since 2007.
Limited spots remain available in APL’s K-12 classrooms for the upcoming school year.
