Thanksgiving
Greetings
Welcome to
the inaugural issue of APL's 2010-2011 newsletter. We
are off to a fantastic start in what promises
to be a great year for our school.
It is
amazing to me the journey APL has been on in just four short
years. To think -- this all started with just
4 students and a big dream, and has already grown to 42
students across 4 classrooms with an incredibly talented
and engaged staff. The Board of Directors is also
finalizing our 5 year Strategic Plan to guide our growth and
development built around our core Mission:
The Academy for Precision Learning is a
K-8 school dedicated to the success of all students -- both
typically developing and those across the Autism Spectrum --
learning within an academically challenging and socially
vibrant environment.
APL uses high quality, data driven
approaches -- including Direct Instruction, Applied Behavior
Analysis and Precision Teaching -- to create individualized
learning plans specifically designed for each
student.
We are dedicated to ensuring every
student's success through accelerated academic progress,
social development, character building and community
involvement.
I am so
grateful to be part of APL's journey -- but none of this
would be possible without all of you. The support
we have received from friends, family, professionals and
generous donors throughout the community has allowed us
to continue building this unique school. Our goal
is to be the very best at what we deliver and continue working
to scale this model to touch as many deserving children as we
can. On behalf of Alison Moors, myself and all of us at
APL, we thank you for joining us in this journey and we wish
you a happy and healthy Thanksgiving
holiday.
Sincerely,
Jennifer
